By establishing the Petite Cascapedia Wildlife Reserve on June 28, 1945, the Quebec government created one of the first public rivers. Since 1991, most of the waterway has been a controlled harvesting zone (ZEC) managed by the Cascapedia Rivers Sport Fishing Association. The remainder of the river consists of an outfitter, Camp Br\u00fbl\u00e9, and a few kilometers of private waters downstream from the ZEC territory.<\/p>\n

The Cascapedia Rivers Sport Fishing Association is the non-profit organization that has been mandated to manage the controlled exploitation zone of the Petite rivi\u00e8re Cascapedia since 1991.<\/p>\n

It is managed by a board of directors composed of seven members. These are local people elected at the annual general meeting for two-year terms. They meet six to seven times a year as needed. Their involvement contributes to: the employment of eight people in seasonal but highly beneficial positions for the region; the development, conservation, and future of the region’s resources.<\/p>\n
